About

Hi there, I’m Emily, a folk herbalist and artist. I have always had a deep love for plants, and I also love to travel. Through the years I have cultivated a great love and reverance for my ancestors, OUR ancestors, both human and plant. I created herbalancestry.org in 2015 as a blog to document my travels in Eastern Europe, the land of my human ancestors, but quickly realized that I do not particularly love writing. What I do love is connecting with people and plants around the globe, making artful medicine and medicinal art, and seeking out the most fun and interactive ways to make the world a better place. I dream of one day creating a not-for-profit organization that helps people all over the world, of all ages and genders, to learn or re-learn and reconnect with the plants their ancestors used. In order to make this happen, I make herbal remedies, which I mainly sell at small, family-owned retail stores in the Great Lakes Region of the United States. If you are interested in supporting the dream by retailing my creations, please email emilyresick@gmail.com
